This is what pickers' dreams look like

So, yesterday was a pretty good day.

  1. Nice haul! Did you ask why they wanted so little for the aluminum group stuff? The slipper chair is pretty cool too.

    1. They said that they were moving and just didn't want to haul all of their stuff around. I went for the chair (before the table ad was up) and asked if he had anything else for sale. When he pulled that table out and asked told me how much he wanted my wallet practically leapt from my pocket. The slipper chair is a Jonathan Adler and sells for about 1500 new!

    1. Yes, it certainly was a very solid day of picking. Just goes to show that even with all the MCM hysteria there are still treasures to be found.

    1. Thanks Ton. I STILL need to do that typewriter write-up. Been meaning to get to it for a while, but time has been in such short supply.

  4. Good job. It's days like this that keep us in the game, right?! Where the heck are you gonna squeeze all THAT in?

    1. No idea, but I'm sure I can fine somewhere. Is it socially acceptable to just have a row of lounge chairs in your living room?

  6. That's what it's all about...days like that. And it all goes to show that you never leave without asking if they have anything else to sell. Good job, you!

    1. They had some other great stuff too, but wouldn't even let me make an offer on it. Given that the guy was willing to sell what he knew was an Eames table and lounge for practically nothing, I'm pretty sure that I could have given him an offer he couldn't refuse. Alas, it had to be left behind.
